ERIK RUTLEDGE FOUNDER · RUTLEDGE DIGITAL A QUICK INTRODUCTION
Good work starts with understanding people. Before I think about pages, features, or code, I want to understand the person behind the business and what they’re trying to accomplish.
WORDS I LIVE BY
MY APPROACH
I like to learn about a your business, audience, priorities, and challenges before recommending a solution and making a plan.
I want to meet you where you are, we don't have to tear everything down or start over. If you have a website that is mostly good, we can target the parts that will make it exceptional.
I want to celebrate business success alongside you and help whenever it is needed. You decide if you want occasional communication, a project handoff with instruction, or ongoing support.
OUTSIDE THE SCREEN
The itch to work with my hands isn't completely scratched at a computer all day. I love working with wood and creating beautiful pieces.
I have a travel-sized watercolor kit I take with me on adventures and it really allows me to enjoy the places I go, then at the end you have a physical memory of that moment.
I guess it's technically called being cross dominant, but I'm not a righty or a leftie. Everything I learn makes me experiment which hand feels more natural. I throw with my left hand, but write with my right.
WHO I WORK BEST WITH
There's nothing wrong with SquareSpace, Wix, or Shopify sites, but the options can be limiting. Without technical knowledge it's hard to make your vision into reality using a website builder. I love creating custom themes, making plug-ins, and adding character to existing sites.
Many of the businesses I work with start at pop-ups and markets, but at a certain point you reach the edge of that client pool. Brainstorming the best direction for a business looking to expand on the web is my bread and butter.
Small businesses don't often have the budget to hire an agency to create and maintain their web presence. I want you to walk away with a weight off your back, like a problem that you couldn't figure out has been solved.
